How It Works
Phone Consultations
Available with any doctor during clinic hours. Book online using the red “BOOK APPOINTMENT NOW” button or call us on (03) 9859 4188.
Video Consultations
Available with Dr Lancaster and Dr Singh. Consult with your doctor via screen on your iPad, smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer.
What If I Need to Be Examined?
If your doctor determines a physical examination is necessary, they will complete what they can during the video consultation and request you attend the surgery for an in-person appointment to finish the consultation.
When to Use Telehealth
Telehealth consultations are ideal when you’re finding it difficult to attend the surgery in person due to:
- Work or family commitments
- Poor mobility or transport difficulties
- Significant distance from the clinic
- Away on holidays
- Other access challenges
What to Expect
Your telehealth consultation functions much like a regular appointment. Your doctor will:
- Take your medical history
- Ask relevant questions
- Provide medical advice
- Organise investigations, prescriptions or referrals as needed
Technical Requirements
For Video Consultations
Devices
iPad, smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer with camera and microphone
Internet
Use a fixed-line or fast WiFi connection rather than mobile data to minimize drop-outs and ensure clear picture and sound quality.
Privacy & Recording
Video consultations are not recorded.
Patients are not permitted to make their own recordings of telehealth consultations.
Who will be present?
Just you and your doctor. Your spouse, partner, family member or friend may accompany you if you wish, just as they would for a face-to-face appointment.
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your telehealth appointment the same way you booked it—online or by phone.
Important
Appointments cancelled with less than 3 hours’ notice will incur a $20 fee. This fee also applies if you don’t attend your scheduled appointment.
