General Practitioner (Independent Practitioner)
Dr Mary-Anne Lancaster
MB BS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG
Dr Lancaster graduated from Melbourne University in 1986 and has consulted in Balwyn since 1991. She currently also consults in regional Victoria through her work with the Royal Women’s Flying Doctor Service. She is the past chair of the Eastern Melbourne Division of General Practice and is involved in medicolegal defence work. Her special interest is cosmetic medicine as well as traditional general practice work.
Her special medical interests are women’s health, children’s health, and mature age healthcare. Mary-Anne attends three or four days a week and is currently studying her Masters of Public Health.

Dr Jane Froster
MB BS (Melb), FRACGP, DRANZCOG
Dr Froster has been practising in the local area since 1998 and brings extensive experience across all areas of family medicine. Her special interest is in women’s health, holding a postgraduate diploma of obstetrics and gynaecology.
Dr Froster has antenatal shared-care arrangements with the Mercy Hospital for Women, Royal Women’s Hospital, and Epworth Eastern Hospital. She practises four or five days a week.

Dr Edward Tsui
MB BS (Melb), FRACGP, Cert. Med. Acup.
Dr Tsui has recently practised in Bulleen since 2008 after practising in regional north-east Victoria for several years. We are excited to welcome him to Balwyn Health Care. Dr Tsui is a GP examiner for the RACGP with past involvement in medical student teaching.
He has served on the interviewing panel for General Practice training. Dr Tsui has three sons in secondary school and continues to work on developing his acoustic guitar skills and refining his tennis game.

Dr Shaw Tan
FRACGP, MBBS, BMedSc, MSUSc
Dr. Shaw Tan is a General Practitioner with 20+ years of clinical experience. He has worked in both tertiary and primary care settings in South Australia and Victoria. He is a graduate from Melbourne University and holds a Master’s degree in Surgical Science. His passion is in preventative medicine and has a special interest in ENT and skin conditions. He also practices ear microsuctioning and minor skin procedures. Outside of work, he enjoys exercising and spending time with his family and 3 children

Dr John Kondopoulos
MB BS, FRACGP
John graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1988 and has lived and practised in the Kew/Balwyn area for nearly 30 years. He enjoys all facets of general practice, with particular interests in children’s health, men’s health, and counselling.
A keen fan of Australian rules football and soccer, John has coached junior soccer for a number of years. He also enjoys reading, movies, and spending time with family and friends. John consults Monday to Friday and the occasional Saturday morning.

Dr Abhishek Singh
MB BS, FRACGP, B Sc Physiotherapy, PG Dip Physiotherapy
Dr Singh graduated from Notre Dame University, Fremantle in 2012. Prior to medicine, he completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from Melbourne University, working as a physiotherapist for several years. This background gives him specialist skills in sports and musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr Singh is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with two certificate courses in skin cancer management, providing diagnosis and management including procedures. He covers all aspects of general practice — from children and adults to elderly patients — and also performs iron infusions, fracture management, travel medicine consultations, and Implanon insertions and removals.

Dr Jan Norton
BM BS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG
Dr Norton completed her undergraduate medical training at Flinders University, graduating in 1986. She was awarded a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1989 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1994. She moved from Adelaide to Melbourne in 2003.
Jan’s special interests include women’s health, preventative medicine, and mature age health. She is available most weekdays and some Saturday mornings.

Dr Katherine Lok
MB BS (Hons), FRACGP, DRANZCOG
Dr Lok grew up in Tasmania and graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1995 with honours. She completed her postgraduate training in Sydney and Melbourne, including terms at The Austin, Royal Children’s, and Northern hospitals, and completed her GP Fellowship in 2000.
Dr Lok has worked at Belmore Road, Balwyn since 2000. Her medical interests include women’s health, children’s health, travel health, shared care of pregnant patients, and care of the elderly. She consults every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and many Saturdays.

Dr Vicky Cocotis
MB BS
Dr Cocotis grew up in Kew, graduated from Melbourne University in 1986, and completed her training at St Vincent’s Hospital. She has worked at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute and the Royal Women’s Hospital, and completed postgraduate training in general practice. Dr Cocotis has spent the last 25 years working in a general practice setting in Kew East.
She speaks Greek fluently and enjoys all facets of general practice.

Jane Richardson
Jane is a Division 1 Nurse and Midwife with over 27 years of experience. She has predominantly worked in midwifery roles throughout her career and continues to teach antenatal education and work shifts in midwifery when time permits. Jane has a special interest in weight management and allergies, and runs clinics in both of those areas.

Julia Monasso
Julia is a Division 1 Nurse with many years of experience in hospital and general practice environments across Melbourne and Sydney. She has considerable experience at the Austin Hospital in testing and vaccination programmes, and further expertise in wound care, care plans, paediatric immunisation, and nurse management.

Ellie Haralambidis
Ellie has been a nurse since 2012, completing her training at Australian Catholic University. She has worked at the Alfred Hospital and thoroughly enjoys engaging with patients in a general practice setting. Her areas of interest include wound care, immunisation, and mental health.

Sarah Balson
Sarah is an experienced nurse who graduated from The Alfred in 1989. Her career has spanned orthopaedics at The Avenue, coronary care at The Epworth, clinical nursing and day surgery at Cabrini, and anaesthetics and spinal and cardiothoracic units at The Austin. More recently, she has served as school nurse at Trinity College and MLC Kew.
